Easter

SATURDAY:
Easter weekend! We went and visited Ashley and Shoni for a couple of hours! And I had a coaching with the musical director for the SLC Conference Center production of "Savior of the World". It was much needed! She wants me to come audition for the SLC version this fall, but there's no way I could do it. :( But it was nice of her to say so anyhow. We saw Ashley, Shoni, Denise and Jared, and Josh - Ashley's new boyfriend. We had a lot of fun in a very short amount of time! Shoni let me take a ton of pictures with her camera since my battery died...grrrr...she'll be sending me those later...so I'll post those sometime soon. :D Here's a few she sent tonight...

Shoni was the first one over to play with him...he loves aunt Shoni!!!

Seeing aunt Ashley again...when she finally got out of bed...he's almost half her size!
Okay...I don't have the pictures of him posted yet, but picture this...Ashley's boyfriend is 6'5"!!!! She is 5'1". For reference, see picture below...Lamar is 6'2"...imagine someone with lil Ash 3 inches taller!!!! They're ADORABLE together though...even if 16 inches apart! I will post more pictures when I get them from Shoni...
We were sooooo happy 'cause we were able to see Nish and Jared! She's my best friend! They left their three kids at home with a babysitter. They loved seeing Brendan and we loved seeing them! It was their first time meeting eachother!

Ashley and I dyed eggs together...well....I dyed all but one. (I really love dying Easter Eggs!!) LOL
SUNDAY:
Quick story....at church today Brendan decided it would be perfect timing in the middle of the last speaker's talk to fill his diaper and then some. Lovely. Diapers are not equipped to handle such times I've decided. Sigh. So poor Lamar had to run out and change him 'cause I had to be up to sing with our ward choir any minute. (I WISH I'd taken a picture of him when we got home from church, but I forgot.) He lost his pants. Lamar brought him back into the chapel looking like a little "Risky Business" baby, with a nice church button down shirt and NO PANTS, no shoes, no socks! Just a diaper/onsie on the rear. I was laughing so hard I had tears coming down my face. Several people at church got a good laugh out of that one today. I was glad Brendan could make so many people laugh at church. Next time I'll bring a full spare outfit, not just an extra onsie. He spent all of Primary with me like that, making the kids laugh too. (Lamar taught Elder's Quorum today, so it was my turn.) Oh...and trying to take care of a hungry/sleepy baby while trying to be a primary chorister is NO FUN. Luckily for Sr. Primary today the lesson went way over and we didn't have time to sing, 'cause Brendan was a big sleeping sack of half naked potatoes in my arms by the end of church. It worked out. :D

Tonight...Brendan's first Easter basket....the candy was for Mommy and Daddy...but the stuffed duckie, play cell phone, and dutch apple baby dessert was for Brendan. And he liked the packaging the candy came in the best! :D

A quick video of him getting his Easter basket... he was tired since it was almost his bedtime. We almost forgot about it since we spent so much time today talking about Christ and why we celebrate Easter! Luckily we remembered right before we put him to bed. We watched several dvds tonight about Christ and His resurrection...Brendan paid attention the most during the "Special Witnesses" dvd when the BYU men's chorus sang in the background. Note taken. :D We talked alot about how much Mommy and Daddy love Jesus Christ and how He died for us and conquered death. I know Brendan didn't understand what we were saying, but hey...ya never know when it starts to click, so we'll start now. :D He's sleepy in the video, but you get the idea.

Opening the basket..........

Finally a cell phone mommy will let me eat!!! :D

He liked the cell phone a lot. :D Pretty soon he'll realize it's not black, doesn't have lights, and isn't as cool. But for now it'll do...(and maybe mommy will get her phone back!)

"Talking" on the phone....

Bedtime now...Brendan's first Easter. :D

I love my Daddy

I was hanging out with Daddy on the couch tonight while Mommy made me a bottle...my poor Daddy is so tired!
I'm about to give Daddy a BIG KISS! See how I hold onto his face? Yep...then I open my mouth and RAAAAAAAH! SLIME him!!! Kisses are fun. :D
I LOVE Daddy hugs! They make me sooo happy...

Okay...can I have my bottle now? :D

Fun in the highchair

He loves it when I roll him around back and forth in the high chair...I think he's going to love roller coasters like his mommy. :D Anyway...wanted to share the cute picts we took of him tonight in his high chair...
Mom was tickling my legs... :D
Hey Daddy! Mom is going to feed me! WEEEEE! (Sorry I accidentally cut off his head...)
Yes...my name is trouble. And I'm slightly dizzy...do it again!!!
The boy has the longest tongue! Not sure where he got that one from...
YAY FOR FOOD! I know I'm about to eat.... BANANAS PLEEEEEASE!

A little video of our 'roller coaster' tummy ticklin' fun...(Brendan probably got a little whiplashed...oops! He was having fun though...)
Push me around some more mommy!

Daddy was being a jack-in-the-box and I loved it! :D

Lounging all day with Mommy

Today I wasn't feeling very well, so I didn't have any energy at all. All I could handle today was to get up, feed the little dude, play with him, sleep, feed the little dude, play with him, sleep, oh and change a bunch of diapers. That's it. The two of us spent a vast majority of our day in bed. Luckily I had the camera next to my bed...I took lots of picts of him lounging on the bed with Mommy. He is such a miracle baby to me...he slept when I wanted to sleep, and totally cooperated today. :D

He is sooo happy when he wakes up! He's the most pleasant alarm clock I've ever had! He LOVES to play with his feet...socks don't stay on this baby for very long...
Hi big eyes! I love you!

He is so happy just to lay there with me and keep me company when I'm tired.

When I am asleep and he is not this is what he does....blabbers and pats. Reaches for my face and just gently pats. Sometimes he'll try to stick his little chubby fingers up my nose, but I usually wake up before then...Hey Mommy! Wake up!

We just hung out cuddling most of the day.

Luckily he is easily amused by his wet wipe container still. He can sit and play like that for quite some time before he gets bored. I like this age!!!!Note the green and blue dinosaur tail in the background, half buried by the blanket? Okay...just now, as I was typing this blog, every time the music would stop playing (when you pull the white lever a little song plays) he would wait maybe three seconds and then "Unhhhhhhhhhhhh". He'd start to drone. I would get off the computer and go in the room and pull the string...quiet. A minute later when it would stop I could almost count it..."One...two...three...UNHHHHHHH". The child loves music, what can I say? LOL He loves that little dinosaur! :D

I love watching him play...it's so cute!

The nastiest diaper change ever

Okay...sorry if this makes anyone else squeamish...it does me too. BUT I had to share what my little dude did last night to me. I had JUST bathed him and put on a fresh diaper not even fifteen minutes earlier. Cherie was holding Brendan for me so I could finish the dishes. Within minutes he had gone from cuddling with her on her hip to her holding him out as far as she could, exclaiming there was a stinky happening.

I didn't believe her, as I had just changed him...there was no way it could be that bad so quickly. I was so wrong! Pretty soon Rie was gagging from the smell. I laid him down to change him, and realized he'd leaked through his sleeper, blanket, and definitely his onsie. The poop explosion was at LEAST an inch thick on his back...it was so disgusting!!! There was NO WAY I was going to attempt to take off the onsie either, and get it all over his hair. So I chose to destroy it and cut it off him. It was revolting. Had to share... it was nauseating. Poor Cherie! At least I couldn't smell it!!!!Out came the scissors. I was VERY LUCKY Cherie was still awake to help me! UGH!
Rie and I had a good (nauseous) laugh out of it at least!

Cousin Brody came to visit!!!!

Cherie and Brody came up from Orange County...IT WAS SOOOOO FUN!!!! The boys had a BLAST together, and so did Rie Rie and I. :)

This was the first day...them playing on the ground together...Brendan is really good at sitting up by himself, and Brody is really good at crawling around.
Such big blue eyes they have! Aunt Rie was reading to the little men...we finally got them both to look up!

Brendan was much more interested in this new little person his size than he was the book!

Even though Brendan looks like he's pushing Brody in this one, he wasn't. He was gently reaching over and patting him. Brendan was sooooo curious about everything Brody did! Brody was trying to eat Brendan's fingers...

Brendan was so impressed by Brody's crawling skills...he watched him like a hawk. He loved having his cousin come over to play! :)

BATH TIME!!!! :D They had a BLAST splashing and playing with the bubbles!
I love this little one...Brendan is grinning at Brody...and if you look closely you can see Brendan's mystery dimple on his right cheek...don't know where he got that one from, as neither of us have dimples, but we LOVE IT! It's so cute. :)

This video is fun...they're playing in the tub with the bubbles together! Brendan was so funny at first...sometimes when Brody would splash Brendan would grin and splash bigger, as if to say "See! I can do that too! You're playing with me!" and then Brody would ignore him...LOL. Naw, he'd just be enthralled by mommy and the bubbles before he'd pay attention to Brendan again. :) Brendan definitely was trying to get his attention. It was adorable.

Brendan was trying to play and reach Brody, but he wasn't too sure about that. :) Brody just wanted to stand up. They were slippery little buggers!

Brody and Brendan were suddenly so intrigued by eachother...so cute! :)

This video is PRICELESS to Rie and I. The little guys are laying next to eachother on the ground...just watch how they interact. SO FUNNY! Brendan's personality goes out the door as he is ultra observant...can't take his eyes off of Brody...is fascinated by him, intensely watching his every move. Brody is super curious, has to try everything and go everywhere, and wants to discover everything! The best part is at the end...Brody takes off crawling and Brendan sees him do this. Brendan immediately wants to join him, but can't crawl yet. So he tries to do the one thing he can...sit up. And can't. Poor little immobile guy! It's hilarious. He wants to move too! Brendan watches Brody crawl off into the distance and he tries his DARNDEST to sit up, cracking Rie and I up! I love this video!!!

We had a BLAST having them here with us for the very short two days. :D We're going to miss having them so close, but we'll get a chance to visit them in Colorado soon. WE LOVE BRODY!! :D

Playing with Daisy

I brought Brendan over to my voice student's house last week and they have a big German shepherd mix dog named Daisy. I thought for SURE Brendan would be scared of her, since he's not too sure what to think of our tiny maltese. I tensed up-all nervous when Daisy came romping inside and went straight for Brendan...I watched intensely at Daisy scared of what she'd do.
She immediately licked Brendan at least ten times and he GIGGLED and LAUGHED...thought she was the coolest dog. She'd put her nose on his lap, looking up at him, butt on ground, tail a waggin' and he'd just squeal and reach for her. He LOVED DAISY!!!! He would pat her and she'd just let him. And she'd lick him A LOT. She loved Brendan! They made best friends...I stayed in the house for an extra ten minutes to let him play with Daisy for awhile, since he was so happy about it. Here are two pictures I took with my cell phone of him playing with her.

Daisy WAS in this picture, but she was too quick for me. This is him laughing his head off at her licks. :) They were instant buddies. ;) Too bad our maltese could care less if he was in the house...Brendan loves big doggies!

Brendan's church outfit

I love this new little church outfit...wanted to share the fun picts from tonight...Brendan was in a smiley mood, so how could I not take a bunch? LOL

Here's our little studbaby. : )
Here is his 'pokemon' smile at its biggest...I love this little toothless smile. :)
I love that new little shirt...even though he puked up on it about 12 times tonight...

He's so happy!
Daddy wanted to snuggle for a bit...I had to take a fotie. :) This one made my heart happy.

Another one...sorry...couldn't decide. :)

He is still SO congested...he's just not getting better. But he's still happy. I got a video of the poor little sickie laughing at getting tickled. :)
